NEILSTON VILLAGE REGENERATION GROUP
In February 2005 East Renfrewshire Council agreed that a multi-agency regeneration group be set up in Neilston that would be representative of community interests.

PROJECTS,
SHOPPING SQUARE IN MAIN STREET, SHOP FRONT IMPROVEMENTS, NEILSTON GARDEN MAIN STREET,LANDSCAPING IN MADRAS PLACE AND HILLSIDE ROAD,PLAY AREA IN MAFEKIN TERRACE NVRG have brought a lot of money into the Village over the years
IN JANUARY 09 EAST RENFREWSHIRE COUNCIL WOUND UP THIS GROUP IN FAVOUR OF A 'TOWN TEAM'
Neilston will now have a Master Plan outside the Council's Local Plan.
Around 200 people came to the first meeting in the Glen Hall's on the 15th of January this year.
No promises were given, just that we would have a plan designed by the 'PEOPLE OF NEILSTON'
The next meeting was on the 11th January, it was the new team 'Towns Team' around 30 people attended but not all were from Neilston.A Small number of Council workers were there
The meeting was well constructed and small focus groups were formed.
The outcome was very good we agreed to quite a number of things.
But the main thing that was agreed was that we all love Neilston but needs changing.
YOUNG PEOPLE, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT,HERITAGE AND APPEARANCE,
On the 25th of February the Town Team met again in the Glen Halls, Neilston
We had not only a great turn out of over 50 people but a great meeting.
Each group were asked to talk about what they thought should be changed,improved or brought in to Neilston.
The next meeting is on the 11th of March again in the Glen Halls.
So far over 500 people living in this small community have attended these meetings. This shows that we are a community that Care's about the Community.
